VISUAL GUIDE 2 / 3

A screening result is a starting point

Vision screening

Identifies children who may need further assessment under that program’s criteria. A referral deserves follow-up even without complaints.

Comprehensive examination

Investigates the child’s vision and eye health as appropriate. Explain persistent symptoms even if a previous screening was passed.

Screening referral or ongoing concern → arrange the appropriate assessment
The tests have different jobs. Passing a screen does not exclude every visual problem, and an online checklist cannot replace either professional screening or an examination.Sources: [2] [3] · Open or save this visual ↗
